What Rapid Formations includes
Rapid Formations' confirmation statement service has two speeds. The standard service is £75.99 + VAT and is filed within 3 working days of Rapid Formations receiving the information it needs. The express service is £85.99 + VAT and is filed within 1 working day. Both prices include the £50 Companies House filing fee. Rapid Formations emails you an online questionnaire and files the statement based on your answers. The service is renewable each year at £75.99 + VAT.
Its dormant company accounts service is £49.99 + VAT and is filed within 1 working day of receiving the information. It is for private limited companies, limited by shares or by guarantee, that have been dormant since incorporation. LLPs cannot use it. Rapid Formations asks for your company name, registration number and authentication code, and recommends ordering at least 3 working days before the deadline.
What SimpleFilings includes
SimpleFilings charges £4.99 for each filing. For a confirmation statement, you check the company details, confirm they are up to date, and approve the filing before it goes to Companies House. The £50 Companies House fee is included in the total and is only due for the first statement in a 12 month payment period. We check this before filing.
For dormant accounts, you review the accounts, confirm the whole period was dormant and approve the filing. There is no Companies House fee for filing dormant accounts. There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically.
Worked example: total cost for one year
Take a dormant company that needs one confirmation statement and one set of dormant accounts in a year.
With SimpleFilings, the confirmation statement costs £4.99 plus the £50 Companies House fee. The dormant accounts cost £4.99, with no government fee. That is two service fees plus £50.
With Rapid Formations' standard services, the confirmation statement is £75.99 + VAT, including the £50 Companies House fee. The dormant accounts are £49.99 + VAT, or £59.99 if VAT is charged at the standard 20% rate. Rapid Formations' page does not say exactly how VAT applies to a price that includes the government fee, so check the final figure at its checkout.
Who files: questionnaire or review-and-approve
The main difference in how the work is done is who checks the details. With Rapid Formations, you answer a questionnaire and the filing is prepared from your answers. With SimpleFilings, you see the details that will be filed and approve them before submission. Both routes depend on the information you give being correct. Companies House still decides whether to accept the filing.
